Mildred Gaither Day, age 93, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Benton House in Newnan, GA. She was born on February 1, 1922, in Fulton to the late Eugene Gaither and Velora Pierce Gaither. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Day and siblings Paul Gaither, James Gaither, Elizabeth Roberts and Dot Gaither.
Mildred is survived by sons, Jim Day and his wife Jan of Newnan, and Mike Day and his wife Patty of Boulder, Colorado; grandchildren, Jamie Day and his wife Kelli of Braselton, GA, Jason Day and his wife Dawn of Racine, WI, Jennifer Stanhagen of Newnan, and Nicole Day of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Mackenzie Day, Jake Day, Parker Stanhagen, Peyton Stanhagen, Kaden Day, and Nicholas Day; and her sister, Jo Staub of Fulton, MS.
Services will be at noon Thursday, July 23, in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, GA, with Rev. Maria Bowers officiating. Visitation is Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time.
Graveside services will be Friday, July 24, at the Fulton Cemetery with McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton in charge of local arrangements.
