Mildred Elois McCarter age 98 of Ozark, AL formerly of Mobile passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Ozark Health and Rehab. Mrs. McCarter was born July 12, 1917 in Cleveland, TN to William McCoy Jackson and Nina Mary Bazemore Jackson.

Services will be Saturday, August 1, 2015 11:30 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bill Irby officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens, with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. McCarter was a member of the Church of Christ. She attended most of her life at Oakdale Church of Christ in Mobile where her husband, Leonard was a Deacon. After moving to East Limestone they attended at Capshaw Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McCarter; one daughter, Carol Anne Caffey.

Survived by one son, James William McCarter of Madison, AL; 5 grandchildren, Kathleen Maund and husband Marion of Collierville, TN, Taylor Caffey, Jr. and wife, Julie of Lakeland, FL, Kristy Kelly and husband, Charles of Tallahassee, FL, Patrick Caffey and wife, Kristie of Harvest, AL and Kimberly Freeman and husband, Dustin of Madison, AL; 13 great-grandchildren, Adam Maund, Madeleine Maund McKenzie Caffey, Madison Caffey, Harrison Caffey, Jackson Caffey, Caroline Kelley, Kathleen Kelly, Charli Grace Kelly, Carter Caffey, Cameron Caffey, Colin Caffey and Rylee Freeman; son-in-law, Dr. Taylor Caffey.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Caffey, Jr., Patrick Caffey, Marion Maund, Adam Maund, James McCarter and Dr. Taylor Caffey. Honorary pallbearer will be Dustin Freeman.
