Mildred Elaine Kelley passed away peacefully August 15, 2024 at her residence in Florence, AL. She was born July 7, 1939 to Harvey Wesson and Senia Womble in Threets Crossroads, AL. She graduated from Central High School in 1957 and married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Kelley, soon after graduation in December of 1957. Elaine was a strong committed leader and worker in her home, career, and in the community. She worked in the financial industry for over 40 years and retired from Wachovia Bank in Birmingham, AL. Elaine loved volunteering and serving others. She was a long-time volunteer at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. She was also very involved with numerous groups and activities at Killen Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 10:30-12:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Stan Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Kelley; daughters, Diann Kelley and Cindy Kelley; sister, Helen Smothers; step-father, Jim Womble; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Wesson; mother, Senia Womble; step-mother, Lula Mae Wesson; and step-father, Andy Wright.
