Mildred Berryman Mardis, 83, of Florence, passed away March 5, 2013 at her residence. She was a member of the “Joy” Sunday School Class of Woodmont Baptist Church, past President of Certified Professional Secretaries International, Beta Sigma, ESA, Jaycettes of Alabama, Women’s Salvation Army Auxiliary, Friends of the Library, and Women’s Bowling. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards with friends, reading, and she loved working Estate Sales and Auctions.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10 – 1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Jerry Rea of Woodmont Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Mardis was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William Carl Mardis; parents, Wilford Claude and Annie Mildred Berryman; sisters, Nelma Summers, and Little Frances Berryman.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Sue Dean (Gary), Stacey Carlyne White (Mark) both of Florence; sister, Bobbye Jean Bradley; grandchildren, Garrick “G.W.” Dean (Amy), Kae Le Lancaster (Johnny), Carley Grigsby of Florence, Brock Grigsby of Center Star; great-grandchildren, William and Rose Dean, Jonathon Lancaster all of Florence.
Active pallbearers will be Timmy Mardis, Terry Jo Mardis, Jackie Summers, Mike Bradley, Terry Jo Hildreth, and Sonny Kullman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Buffaloe, John Riedel, William Tease, Mike Muddler, Steve Eason, Jerry Grigsby, and Leonard Harrison.
Our family would like to say a special “Thank You” to, Brenda Skipworth, Nita Goodloe, and Betsy Nesbitt. We could not have made it without you. To the ladies of “Hospice of the Shoals”, Bethany Osborn, Cynthia Rollins, Kim Cole, Heather Patterson, Emily McDonald, Sabrina Richardson, Kathy Leavitt, and Kaye Ray; the special attention, care, love and support that you’ve shown Mother will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary (SAWA), Hospice of the Shoals or to a charity of your choosing.
