Milah Carolyn Wooden was stillborn on February 3rd, 2025. She had her fathers chin and nose, and her mother’s cheeks and lips. She had a beautiful head just full of curly reddish hair, and her mama’s quirky little pinky toes that always looked broken.
She was just 17 ½ inches, and she weighed 4 pounds and 9 ounces. She weighs so much heavier on our minds and hearts.
Our girl was beautiful, the most beautiful thing we have ever seen. And yet, we know that she is more beautiful now than she has ever been, having entered into the rest of our Father and Creator. Our Milahbug, whose sweet name means compassion, graciousness, and freed woman, has always lived up to her name, even as she entered into this world having already departed it. We can think of no name more perfect for our baby who never knew sin or pain, only the love of her parents and now the eternal love of our God and Savior. She was perfectly, beautifully, and wonderfully made, but we know that He has only made her even more so past the bounds of this life.
There is no explanation for how His hand moved even in this deepest of valleys except that He has carried us. There is no explanation for the peace and ability we have to praise though these circumstances except that through His grace, we are made freed men and women.
Milah is survived by her loving parents, Creed and Kara Wooden, and family, who will always remember her for the beauty and sweetness God gifted her with in the short time she was here.
