Michael Vernon BakerMichael Vernon Baker, age 66 of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Sewanee on May 2, 1954 to the late Vernon Crownover and Eva Bell Meeks Baker. He was employed for many years as a pipefitter with Eastman Kodak and then later retired after spending some time as a truck driver. Michael was an avid Tennessee Football fan and especially loved cheering on the Vols. In his free time he liked to go fishing, and watch Westerns and Scary movies. He was fun loving and a wonderful father, brother, and husband. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Connie Ensley. He is survived by his loving wife of 4 years, Teresa Ballew Baker of Fayetteville; daughters, Bridget (Billy) Harris of Winchester, Natalie (Mike) Ferguson of Elora, Olivia (Joey) Tucker of Elora; Son, Eric (Brandy) Brandon of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Hunter, Taylor, Allen, Cynimon, Bethany, Tucker, Melissa, Cole, Andrew, Annaleigh, Kaylee, Logan, Hudson; great-grandchildren, Grainger, Rory, Sawyer, Audrey; sister, Ina Sue Hardy of Winchester; and special friend, Kenny Pace. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral home. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Christ the King Anglican Church in Decherd with Father Bill Midgett officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Garner cemetery.
