Michael Terry Franks Michael Terry Franks, 57, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at NMMC in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was born on January 22, 1969.

Michael was a devoted Ole Miss fan, proudly chanting “Hotty Toddy” and enjoying all sports. He loved spending time outdoors, especially camping, until his health declined. His summers were often spent at Grenada Lake, surrounded by family and longtime friends from St. Louis, whom he affectionately called “The Yankees.”

He is survived by his sons, Chris Franks (Bethany) of Booneville and Shane McCammon (Tracy) of Alabama; his daughters, Ashley Franks, CeeAnna Franks, and Jennifer Burns, all of Saltillo; his brother, Tim Franks; and his sister, Tammy McAnally (Jimmy) of Booneville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alana Franks, Keiton and Emma Belk, Hunter and Leland Dunlap, all of Booneville, and Dakota, Conner, and Colton McCammon.

Michael leaves behind many extended family members, including his uncles, Boyce Holloway and Duayne Holloway (Reba) of Pontotoc; his aunts, Glenda Mae Whooten (Billy) of Randolph and Nancy Holloway; and numerous cousins, Anthony (Susan) and Jeff Holloway (Christy), Rhonda Leatherwood (Frito), Sha Holloway (Jane), Samuel and Cade Holloway, Brandy Goolsby (Billy), Carrie Mathis (Terry), Penny (Frankie), Gary Lynn Washington, Kim McMillen (Tim), Casey Sprayberry (Jeffery) and Jennifer Morgan (Matt).  He shared a special bond with his cousin, Jennifer Braden (Craig), who was like a sister to him and cared for him in his final weeks. He is also survived by his special aunt, Jean Laird of St. Louis, and his close “brothers” from St. Louis, Dale and Denny Laird.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Peggy Franks; his grandparents, Quinton and Marie Holloway and Dewey and Lois Franks; his beloved son, “Mikey” Kevin Franks; and several aunts and uncles, Travis Franks, Bobby Jean Washington (Cowboy), Lisa Holloway, Patricia Jenkins, and Tommy Holloway, and great-grandparents, Jessie and Ethal Munlin and Papa and Mama Hodges.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Sherman Apostolic Tabernacle, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Oak Forest Cemetery.

If you can, wear Ole Miss gear or colors to honor Michael.
