Michael Shane Taylor, age 52, of Sumiton, passed away February 10, 2021. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Virginia Evans and his father-in-law, Joseph J.B. Alexander. Shane is survived by his wife of 31 years, Karen A. Taylor; son, Jordan Taylor (Devon); daughter, Alyssa Taylor; mother, Faye Wickersham; mother-in-law, Betty Alexander and a granddaughter expected in July of 2021. Shane was a wonderful husband and father but most of all he was a steadfast lover of God. He was a member of Sumiton Church of God where he served faithfully. He was a teacher and scholar of God’s Word and never missed an opportunity to share his faith with anyone interested in learning about Christ. Shane was a 1994 graduate of Lee University. He enjoyed Alabama football and spending time with his family. Shane loved to laugh and had a wonderful personality. He was an honorable and dedicated man. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at Sumiton Church of God. Visitation from 5-7pm funeral service will begin at 7pm. Rev. Victor Massey officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to City of Lights.
