Michael Scott Lassiter Obituary  Mr. Michael Scott Lassiter was born in Grove Hill, Al on March 13, 1963 to his parents Mr. Harold Lassiter and the late Mrs. Edna Gray Lassiter. He spent his childhood in southern Alabama until he reached his early adult years when he met and married his wife Mrs. Nanette Horton Lassiter and the two would unite their hearts and lives on December 19, 1987 and remain married until his passing. He and his wife spent their adult lives raising their children in Collinwood and would share 38 years together. Being a hard worker, Scott worked many years in different capacities in several different fields such as an auto mechanic, the Wayne County Highway Department and for “Books A Million” in Florence, AL. A service minded man, when not working he would spend a large part of his time serving his community at the Cypress Inn Fire Department. Being an ambitious man, throughout the years he made many friendships and could always be depended upon for any friend that may be in need, even taking time to speak with his “trucking buddies” on the phone to help keep them awake during their long travels. In his leisure time, he could be found “tinkering” and “fixing” CB radios, fishing, watching his favorite comedy shows and movies such as “Gilligan’s Island, “Green Acres” but his favorite was “Smokey and the Bandit”.  Mr. Michael Scott Lassiter passed from this life on October 06, 2025.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Mrs. Nanette Horton Lassiter; son Joshua Lassiter both of Collinwood, TN; daughters Kimberly Sivils husband Charles of Huntsville, AL and Katherine Lassiter of Columbia, TN; grandchildren Roxas Sivils and Rex Sivils; father Harold Lassiter and wife Gayle of Pine Hill, AL; brother Shawn Lassiter and wife Karen of Fulton, AL; his closest and  special friends  Donnie McGee, Larry Cross, Lynn Goodman, Wendell Jackson, Dwight Davis, Terry Smith and Zack Cleaves;  as well as a host of many other family members, friends and dear loved ones.

In addition to his mother Mrs. Edna Gray Lassiter; he is preceded in death by his grandparents Thomas and Mary Baugh; James and Bonnie Lassiter

Graveside services will be held at the Piney Grove Cemetery Saturday October 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Earl Rich officiating.

Pallbearers include Donnie McGee, Joshua Lassiter, Joe Hanback, Jasper Rich, Steven Vickory and Shannon Holt.
