Michael Lynn Mitchell, 63 of Athens, Alabama, formerly of Cash Point, TN, died on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama.
Born Monday, August 6, 1951 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Lindel George Mitchell and the late Jean Mitchell Davis. He was a member of Cash Point Baptist Church and had worked for Dunlop Tires for twenty years before he became disabled. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents: William Vanleer and Annie Gatlin Merrell, and Paul and Pearl Mitchell, and a step-father: Robert (Terrapin) Davis.
Surviving are sons, Chad (Sonya) Mitchell of Ardmore, AL and Chris Spindelilus of Los Angeles, CA, sister, Phyllis (Ben) Grela of Athens, AL, step-grandchildren: Kelsi Martin and Levi Martin, three nieces: Brooklyn Watson of Athens, AL, Bree Grela of Savannah, GA, and Bridgitt Grela of Auburn, AL, nephew: Brett Hogan of Ardmore, AL, four great nieces and one great-nephew, an aunt and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 1, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama, with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery, Blanche, TN.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, September 1, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
