Funeral service for Michael Lee Serda, age 39, of Hillsboro, will be Thursday, February 6, 2014, 12:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Moody officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Serda, who died Friday, January 31, 2014, in an auto accident , was born October 9, 1974 in Morgan County, to Maurice Ray “Butch” Serda and Dona Hill Serda. He was a US Army Veteran that served in the 101st Airborne Division. He was preceded in death by his father and his daughter Sierra Serda.
He is survived by his mother, Dona Serda of Hillsboro; two brothers, James Serda (Nikki) of Hillsboro and Tim Serda (Beth) of Hartselle; two sisters, Martha Reynolds of Hillsboro and Tina Fielder (Danny) of Lacy’s Spring; his step-son Blake Spurgeon of Ardmore, AL
Pallbearers will be US Army Honor Guard.
