Michael Haines, age 75, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at his home in Loretto, Tennessee.
Born on October 11, 1950, Michael was the son of the late Carl Haines and Leta Haines. He lived a life marked by dedication, curiosity, and deep love for his family. Michael had a passion for reading, especially science fiction, often immersing himself in stories that sparked his imagination.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Michael honorably served his country working with missiles, a role that reflected both his intelligence and commitment. His service was a source of great pride throughout his life.
Above all, Michael cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found joy in the time spent with those he loved.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Haines; his children, John (Conie) Haines, Heather (Jason) Weibel, and Orry (Brian) Rittenhouse; his bonus children, Brad Kruger, Jim Kruger, and Ryan (Rainey) Kruger; his grandchildren, Jenny Rose, Michael, Jacob, Jason Jr., and Charlie; his great-grandchildren, Aila and Azai; and his siblings, Arthur Haines, Gordon Haines, Barbara (Jim) Moo’s, and Ruth (Richard) Haines- Drake.
In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his siblings, Darlene Twardowski and Gloria Haines, and his granddaughter, Adrienne Kruger.
Michael will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of stories, and the steady presence he provided to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and enduring memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
