Michael Baxter Moorer
(April 26, 1959 – November 18, 2014)
Baxter’s death was the result of a stroke he suffered on Friday, November 14, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Wade Moorer. Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth “Mona” W. Moorer, one brother Barry A. Moorer and wife Jeanne, also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He attended the Opportunity Center and was very active in the special Olympics. His favorite hobbies included bowling and horseback riding. He received many medals from the local, state and national games. Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. A private family graveside will follow at Athens City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to The Arc of Madison County or a charity of your choice. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
