Michael Anthony Blanton, 35, Spruce Pine, formerly of Red Bay, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Franklin County, Alabama. He was born March 31, 1979, in Tupelo and was employed as a builder for Gates in Red Bay.
Services will be Monday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home chapel, Red Bay with Brother Bo Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Abbigale Blanton, of Spruce Pine; two children, Gregory and A.J. Blanton; mother, Sandra Shaw (Ken), of Pontotoc; father, Mike Blanton (Sharon), of Red Bay; special mom, Pansy McKinney, of Red Bay; grandparents, R.V. and Clara Holland and Linda Blanton, all of Red Bay; great-grandmother, Ruby Burks, of Red Bay; two sisters, Kim Brown (Matt) and Sonya Red (Chad), all of Houlka; stepsister, Summer Hamilton (Baron), of Tuscumbia; father and mother-in-law, Tommy and Jane Voyles, of Spruce Pine; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Houston McKinney, Lois Elmer Burks, Edna and Dell Holland, and George Blanton.
Pallbearers will be Bret Cashion, Justin Raper, Josh Dobbs, Josh Phifer, Jay Manfield, Jeff Manis, Zack Frederick and Dustin Harris. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Hisaw.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 8. 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday.
