Meth Bust In Hartselle…Five Arrested

HARTSELLE-Sheriff Ana Franklin of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office released a statement regarding a drug bust in Hartselle at the Express Inn on Friday, April 29:

“In the early morning hours of Friday, April 29th, 2016, Hartselle Police Officers were dispatched to the Express Inn in Hartselle. Officers responded after receiving a complaint there there were trespassers in one of the rooms. Officers made contact with Colton Henderson,23, Jordan Cole, 21, Daniel Brown, 31, and Crystal Hubbard Riddle, 33. There was also an 8 year-old child present. Officers discovered methamphetamine on Henderson and drug paraphernalia throughout the room. Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents responded and secured a search warrant for the room since none of the subjects had rented it. Drug agents executed the search warrant on the room and discovered several syringes lying about. Agents also discovered meth pipes and straws.

DHR was called and placed the child in foster care. Agents charged Henderson with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Loitering in a Drug House. Henderson’s bond is $3,100.00. Cole and Brown were charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Loitering in a Drug House. Their bond is set at $600.00 each. Ms. Riddle was charged with Drug Endangerment of a Child, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Loitering in a Drug House. Her bond is set at $50,600.00. All subjects were transported to the Morgan County Jail.

Later in an unrelated case, Morgan County Deputies stopped a vehicle in Union Hill and discovered drug paraphernalia. The subject, Chadrick Nesmith,34, of Lacey Springs, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Once at the Morgan County Jail, Nesmith was patted down and tried to conceal methamphetamine. Agents charged Nesmith with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd. Nesmith’s bond was set at $7,500.00.”
