Mertie Bell Nelson age 86 Of Russellville, AL died on July 20, 2019 at the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL.
She was born in Lamar County to Garfield and Lillie Hankins Stewart. Mertie was a member of First Baptist Church in Guin, AL. She was a member of the Eastern Star and lived in the Guin area most of her life. She loved singing, flowers, gardening and love her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary (John) Randall of Russellville, AL, Ethel (L C) Doughty of Guin, AL, and a Step Daughter, Irene Thomas of Georgiana, AL, twenty-one Grandchildren, twenty Great-Grandchildren a host of Great-Great Grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews.
Services held Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Beaver Creek Cemetery.
Her body will Lie in state at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2:00 pm just prior to the service time.
The Grandsons will be Pallbearers.
