Merilyn Osterlund Dabbs, 75, of Florence, died Friday, July 18, 2014, following an extended illness. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
She was a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, friend, student, teacher, geographer, geologist, world traveler, avid hiker, spelunker, nature lover … A wonderful person who was always a part of nature and is still.
We all miss her and will never forget her. Enough said, Mom was always “to the point.” She will never be forgotten.
Preceding her in death were her father, Lowell Reed Parker; daughter, Taina Lee Osterlund; grandson, Lucas Terry.
She is survived by her mother, Merle Franklin Stutts McCorkle; son, John R. Osterlund Jr.; daughter, Jane Periece Terry; sister, Ina Lee Parker; grandchildren, Calvin Caldwell, Lee Caldwell, Josh Caldwell and Shaina Osterlund; great-grandchildren; Kylee Caldwell, Ashlee Caldwell, Brinlee Caldwell and Lillie June Caldwell.
