TUSCUMBIA – The weather was superb for this past Memorial Day Weekend. Folks were busy with their barbecues; their parties; boating; imbibing… In general reveling in the knowledge that we live in a great country and are, for the most part, quite safe in our homes and communities.
And on Monday, pretty much as a whole, people in the Shoals paused in their reveries to remember the men and women who, through their sacrifices, ensured our freedom by offeringย their greatest measure of devotion to ourย Country.
The Quad-Cities Daily was on hand at the Colbert County Courthouse to record the ceremony there with EVENT PHOTOS. We shot photos of most everybody there, but especially tried to find most of the veterans there and take their photos. Some of these folks may not be with us next time around. We lost a few from last year.
