Melvin Wayne York, 79, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019. He was born in Bremen, Alabama on January 18, 1940.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Hazel York; his mother in law, Irma Cox Moore; and father in law, Joe B. Moore.
Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Sue Moore York; son Darrin York and wife Julie, granddaughter Bentley, grandsons Caden and Case; son Kevin York and wife Natalie, grandsons Ryan, Austin and Andrew, granddaughter Taylor; loving family members of his wife, Lewis Moore (Sherry), Billy Ray Moore (Nita) and Joann Truman.
Wayne was a graduate of Sheffield High School. He retired from Occidental Chemical in 2002. Wayne loves to play golf and fish.
His funeral will be Monday, March 4, 2019 at Morrison Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Brother Jeff Abrams will officiate the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Moore, Billy Ray Moore, William Truman Jr., Gary Simpson, Hillard South and Max Eady.
