Melvin McDonald, age 83 of Double Springs, entered into rest on April 6, 2013.
He was born March 29, 1930. Mr. McDonald attended Winston County High School. He served in the Army and was a member at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. In most recent years, he attended Corinth Baptist Church. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and brother.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 12-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held at 2pm. Burial will be at Fairview Baptist Cemetery in Double Springs. Reverend Bill Frank Wilson will officiate.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Carolyn) McDonald and Ricky C. (Joyce) McDonald; brother, Blake McDonald; sisters, Nellie McGeehee and Judy Tonabean. He was “Grandpa” to 11 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Crowe McDonald; parents, Cohen and Erine McDonald; son, Mickey McDonald; sisters, Inez Knight and Inese McDonald; and brother, Walker McDonald.
