Melvin Lee Black, 74, of Fort Payne, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was born December 4, 1948 to the late Hershel Melvin Black and Jesse Lee Morgan Black. Mr. Black was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with burial following in Fort Payne Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until the 2 p.m. hour of service.
He is survived by his children Nina Turner, Chris Black, and Ladonna Stonbraker; sisters Donna Davis and Charlene Wooten; grandchildren Cody Turner, Dustin Turner, Chelsea Turner, Ashley Black, Braxton Black, Brittany Black, Damon Stonbraker, and Alan Stonbraker; and several great-grandchildren.
.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carolyn Peek.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
