Mr. Melvin Douglas Hill, 65 of Tuscumbia, formerly of Center Star, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His family will receive friends for visitation Friday, March 21, 2014, at Colbert Memorial Chapel from 12-2pm. Bro. Buddy Dover will officiate the service beginning at 2pm in the funeral home chapel.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Katherine Hill.
He is survived by his loving wife, Reba Chaney Hill; son, Dr. Bradley Christopher Hill (Trisha Kay); daughters, Rachel Lindsay Hill, and Theresa Denise Peters (Joey); grandchildren, Adam Peters, Mary Katlyn Peters, Abby Wilkinson, Courtney Baskins, Emma Hill, Megan Hill, and Kyleigh Baskins; and great granddaughter, Paisley Peters.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Melvin’s honor to the American Liver Foundation at 39 Broadway Suite 2700 New York, New York 10006.
Our family gives a special thanks to the 4th floor nurses of Helen Keller Hospital, Dr. Ginevan, and Dr. Raju for the care given to our dear loved one.
