Melvin David “Buddy” Blalock Jr. the cherished son of the late Melvin D. Blalock Sr and Frances “Montez” Blalock. Growing up in a close-knit family, he was supported by his loving parents and was fortunate to share his life with his siblings, Barbara Bradberry, Celia Gunnin, Pamela Hawkins, Shirley Whitmore, Kathy Blalock, Rhonda Blalock, Darrell Blalock, and Daniel Blalock.
A man of many talents, Buddy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for gardening, creating beauty from the soil with his nurturing hands. Music was another passion, and he would often be found strumming his guitar, filling the air with melodies that reflected his warm and gentle nature. Known for his remarkable ability to fix anything, Buddy was the go-to person whenever something needed repair, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Buddy’s infectious laughter and his repertoire of jokes brightened the lives of everyone around him. His warm soul and unwavering willingness to help those in need made him a beacon of kindness and generosity in his community.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children, Tammy Blalock, Shane Blalock (Linda), and Weston Blalock.
His grandchildren, Joshua Reese (Kelly), Hayes Reese, Lee Gibson, Tyler Blalock, Justin Blalock, Patrick Blalock, and Jasper Marrs, were the pride and joy of his life, each carrying a piece of his heart.
As we remember Buddy, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit. Though he is no longer with us in body, his presence will continue to be felt in the lives of those he touched. A private funeral ceremony will be held in honor of Buddy’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Buddy’s generous spirit and his desire to help those in need. Buddy Blalock will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love and laughter will forever be cherished
