Melvin Bomar – Obituary

Funeral service for Melvin Bomar, 92, will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Bomar officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

 

Mr. Bomar died on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Falkville Health Care Center. He was born May 19, 1924, in Madison County to Walter Ruben Bomar and Mattie Lou Murphy Bomar. He loved to hunt, fish and loved to play music. He was one of the original builder’s of Barnett’s Chapel Church. Mr. Bomar was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife: Pauline Brown Bomar, his parents, two brothers: Milton and Marion Bomar, and a sister: Irene Blankenship.

 

The family would like to thank the Nurses and caregivers at the Falkville Healthcare for their wonderful care.

Cecil Bomar (Linda Jo),
Howard Earl Bomar (Becky) and
James Allen Bomar (Vikki)

 

Nine Grandchildren

16 Great Grandchildren

1 Great Great Grandchild

 

Pallbearers will be Daniel Bomar, Todd Bomar, Chad Bomar, Adam Dye, Matt Bomar, Chris Bomar. Colton Dye and Dylan Bomar.
