Melton Knox Allaway passed away on June 18, 2018 at Riverside Senior Center in Decatur, Alabama. He was born on January 5, 1940 and was 78 years old.
He was retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, loved his family, fishing, Alabama football and umpiring ball games. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for NHC Healthcare and First United Methodist Church in Pulaski.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 22nd from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow visitation on Friday at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Burial will take place in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, Alabama with full military honors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Chester and Nellie McKleroy Allaway, brothers, Marel and Melvyn Allaway, sisters, Jean Steppe and Betty Prather.
He is Survived by his,
Son, Troy Glen (Vicki) Allaway of Decatur, AL.
Son, Travis Neal (Twana) Allaway of Mt. Juliet, TN.
Brother, Joel Maurice (Melissa) Allaway of Athens, AL.
Granddaughter, Avery Allaway
Several Nephews, Nieces also survive.
