Melissa Elura Burton (Best) passed away December 5, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents; Louis and Phyllis Best; son Matthew Davis Burton; maternal grandfather Roy Chaney and paternal grandmother Elura Gunter. Melissa is survived by her son Zachary Burton (Jordyn Kazmouz); sister, Kristie Best Rigsby (Scott); maternal grandmother, Mavis Chaney; niece Kelsie Sapp; nephew, Jakob Rigsby and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Melissa was a loving and supportive mother. She had a strong personality and would do anything for those she loved, as demonstrated by her commitment to the personal growth of those that worked with her over the course of her thirty- year career. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She was an avid Auburn football fan. Services will be held Sunday, December 8, 2019 at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home, Dora, AL. The family will receive guests from 12:30-2:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm with burial following in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
