Melissa B Smith, age 48, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Clay County Hospital. A private graveside service was held Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Clay County Memory Gardens with Rev, Rusty Craig officiating.
A native of Clay County, Melissa grew up in Alex City and graduated Benjamin Russell HS in 1990. She became a beautician after attending Opelika Tech and was a 1 of a kind stylist. She was loved by all, was a real people person and was always helping others. Donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Asland – Christian Life Center.
Melissa is survived by her Mother, Becky P Brooks of Ashland; Son, John Brooks Williams of Alexander City; Sister, Beth Brooks Baker and Mark of Jasper; Niece, Emi Smith; Nephew, Zach Smith and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Edward Brooks.
Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland was in charge of arrangements.
