Melba Joyce England Patton, 85 of Vinemont, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Mrs. Patton served as Mayor of the Town of South Vinemont for 19 years. She was a council member for 12 years prior to becoming Mayor. She loved her community and was honored to serve them for so many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, E.W. “Sonny” Patton; parents: J.C. and Magdelene Calloway England and son-in-law, Bill Schmidt. She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Schmidt and Tammy (Gary) Watson; and granddaughter, Lindsey (Brandon) Harbison. Her family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Melba Patton will be held in the chapel of Moss Service Funeral Home on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Waddell officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
