Funeral service for Melba Jean McLeroy Fortenberry, 82, will be Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Robinson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 24, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Ms. Fortenberry passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at her residence. She was born October 5, 1943, in Morgan County, to Kenneth Jones McLeroy and Exer Motes Fortenberry.
She was employed as the Main Teller for Compass Bank, prior to her retirement. A wonderful mother and grandmother and was a homemaker for family. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother- Dillard McLeroy, and a sister- Mary Ruth McLeroy.
Survivors include:
Husband – Jimmie Fortenberry,
Sons – Phillip Fortenberry (Amber), and
Jason Fortenberry (Jessie)
Grandchildren – Connor Fortenberry (Jolee), Annalee Fortenberry, Mackenzie Fortenberry, Rhett Lemay, Jenny Reese Woodward, and Maggie Belle Eddy.
Great Grandchild – Colt Fortenberry
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
