Mel Ritter, 78, of Rogersville, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at his residence.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Terry Herston officiating. Burial will follow in Hooie-Bedingfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John David Richardson, Clint Grissom, Jeremy Ritter, Justin Ritter, Jason Ingram and Jimmy Ritter.
Mr. Ritter was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bonnie Ritter; wife, Nancy Ritter; granddaughter, Leigh Anna Richardson; and brothers, Hubert and Junior Ritter.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Ritter; daughters, Melissa (John) Richardson and Susie (Rodney) Hammond; stepchildren, Scotty Newton and Lisa Beaver; three grandchildren; a host of stepgrandchildren; and great-grandchildren; brother, Chick (Ornie) Ritter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
