THE SHOALS-On Saturday, March 7, at 11:30 am, Florence/Lauderdale Tourism will host the Local Saints for a meet and greet with the band and Halley Phillips Yeager. The group will be on hand to discuss their recently-released CD which was co-produced by Yeager and recorded at her grandfather Sam Phillips’ recording studio in Memphis. The free presentation will be held at the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism Office & Visitor Center in McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama. Merchandise from the band, including CDs and t-shirts, will be available for purchase at the event.
The second Swampette tour of the year will follow the Local Saints presentation from 1 to 5 pm.
The popular tour offers stops at FAME Studios, 3614 Jackson Highway and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Led by Judy Hood, wife of Swamper bass player David Hood, the tour travels to each venue aboard the “Trolley of Tunes.” Tour cost is $35 per person.
