Maye Adams Smith, 79, of Florence, Alabama (formerly of Iuka, Mississippi), She joined her loving parents and brother at their heavenly home place on Monday, December 30, 2013, at ECM Hospital in Florence. She was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church, where she fully enjoyed fellowship with the community and her family. She was a loving wife and devoted mother. She attended Northeast Community College, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, music, and family. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, December 3, 2013, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka officiated by Bro. Jerry Rey. Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include her husband of 58 years. E. Bart Smith, Jr. of Florence, AL; together they raised five devoted children 1 son – Emery Bart Smith, III of Minneapolis, MN; and 4 daughters – Paula Harrington (Joe) of Mobile, AL; Lynn Ticco (Paul) of Charlottesville, VA; Carole Smith of Florence, AL; and Anne Brandenburg (Jay) of Bolingbrook, IL; 2 loving sisters – Anne Rushing and Carole Dixon (Vance), both of Florence, AL; 2 beloved brothers – Thomas Adams (Joanne) of Manteo, NC and John Adams (Janie) of Savannah, TN; 4 grandchildren – April Smith Hall, Daniel Lopez, Milly Lopez, and Kate Brandenburg; and 2 great grandchildren – Alyssa Hall and Loren Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Paul and Esther Adams, Sr.; and her brother, William Paul, Jr.
