Maxine Partin Wade, age 87 of Pelham, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Grundy County, she was born in Pelham on March 25, 1936, to the late James Burford “Boot” and Jewel Isabel (Patterson) Partin. Before her retirement, she had been employed at Carrier, JoAnn Fabrics, Pelham Shell, City of Monteagle, and Monteagle Sunday School Assembly. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and making crafts and ceramics. Known as the “family photographer,” she enjoyed taking photos of her beloved family and cherished the time they spent together. She was a very generous, outgoing, and creative lady, and she freely gave of her time volunteering at various community clubs in Pelham and Grundy County. Maxine was a dedicated member of Providence United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Jean Brownell; brothers, James Leslie Partin and Lannie Fred Partin; and father of her daughter, Jim B. Sartain. Maxine is survived by her daughter, Kay (Eddie) Baker; granddaughter, Jennifer Thompson; great-grandchildren, Andrew Swearington and Kaleb Swearington; sister, Nancy Arlene Bean; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Providence United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Roy Hopkins officiating.
