Maxine Johnson WeedenMaxine Johnson Weeden was born in Doweltown, TN on November 18, 1942 to Max and Lana Mai Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom Weeden, daughter Rosalyn Buchanan, and son Tom Weeden, Jr.

She attended Wilson County High School in Lebanon, TN, Tennessee State University where she received her cosmetology license, and Motlow State Community College where she received her Associate Degree. Upon moving to McMinnville in 1965, she joined Clark United Methodist Church where she would become the musician and choir director. She influenced many young men and women in the McMinnville community through her music ministry. Maxine was a disciplinarian when it came to singing for the Lord. She was a church delegate to the Tennessee annual Conference for many years. Maxine retired from the U.S. Post Office after 38 years of service.

She is survived by one brother-in-law Sam Weeden of Nashville, TN, a daughter-in-law Merion Weeden, grandson Derek Weeden, cousins Robert Beard and family, John Dowell and Family, and Billie Sue McKinley and family, devoted hairdresser Billie Ann Strong, her Clark United Methodist Church Family, and special friends Pastor Willie and Gloria Cameron.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dan Hayes and Rev. W. Gerald Harlan will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Receiving hours for Maxine Weeden will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. Noon.
