Maxine Hodge, 77, of Thaxton, Mississippi, was born on August 24, 1948, and passed away on May 18, 2026. Her gentle spirit was often reflected in music; she loved to sing and previously sang with the Harmony Masters, sharing her voice in a way that brought comfort and connection to those around her. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family.
Maxine is survived by her sons, Jeff Bailey (Pam) and Michael Bailey (Amanda), Alan Hodge (Denise), Rodney Hodge, and Tommy Hodge (Kathy); and daughter, Donna Hodge. She is also survived by her sister, Janie Long; grandchildren, Erin Bailey, Brandon Bailey (Sydnie), Payton McGlynn (Keegan), Matt Hodge, Alex Cary (Tanner), Ethan Hodge (Ariana), Everett Hodge, and Cody Hodge; and great-grandchildren, Kendrick, Erikah, Jaxon, and Maddie.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Hodge; her father, Louis Harris; her mother, Loudell Morris Harris; her sister, Wilma Lee Stepp; and her brother, Robert Harris.
Pallbearers will be Matt Hodge, Ethan Hodge, Everett Hodge, Cody Hodge, Austin Long and Jermey Betts.
Visitation will be held at Discovery Church, 4241 MS-336, Pontotoc, MS 38863, on May 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and again on Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Discovery Church, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
