Mattie “Sue” Willbanks – Obituary

Mattie “Sue” Willbanks, 83, of Tuscumbia passed away, March 5, 2017. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow. Burial will be in Hyde Lake Cemetery. Brother Marley Willbanks, Brother Ricky Hood and Pastor Rick Graves will be officiating the service. She was a member of Tuscumbia Valley Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by parents, Columbus and Carrie Colburn; great-grandson, Seth Davis; brother, Walker Colburn; and sisters, Rachel Colburn, Gladys Colburn and Pearl Roden.

Survivors are husband of 58 wonderful years, Gene Willbanks; sons, David Willbanks (Diana) and Roger Willbanks (Jerriene); daughters, Peggy Mishue (Jesse), Betty Brown (Dennis) and Brenda McCaig (Brad); eight grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Alexia, Aaliyah, Aalivia, Abby, Maddalynn, Charli, Russ, Riley, Ellie, Caleb, Tenley and a host of loving nieces, nephews and other family members.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Chad Davis, Danise Herren, Lucy Mann, Michael Campbell, Amos Willbanks, Tyler Campbell, Colburn Willbanks and Jordan Whorton. Honorary pallbearers will be James Jay Jackson, Petey Bogue and Harley D. Willbanks.
