Funeral service for Mattie Sue Appleton Bynum, 93, of Gardendale, will be 11 a.m. today, June 7, 2016, at Lawrence Funeral Home, Moulton, with Neil Carter and Mika Marcum officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Bynum, who died June 4, 2016 at her residence was born June 22, 1922, in Lawrence County to Ben Appleton and Dora McDonald Appleton. She had worked as a sales clerk at Joiner’s Department Store and was a member of First Baptist Church, Fultondale. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, R.W. “Buster” Bynum.
Survivors include a daughter, Dora McCreless, Gardendale; grandson, Allen McCreless (Amy), Jacksonville, Alabama; granddaughters, Amy Young (Patrick), Gardendale and Brent McCreless (Penny), Cincinatti, Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jonah McCreless, Jacksonville, Alabama; and great-granddaughter, Kendall Young, Gardendale.
Pallbearers wil be Jerry Appleton, Johnny Appleton, Bobby Appleton, Ricky Appleton, John Appleton,and Jacob McCreless.
