Mattie Frances Ray, 70, of Athens died Tuesday at her residence. She was born June 22, 1944, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a retired seamstress and member of the Apostolic Mission Church. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Spry Funeral Home with services 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel with Clyde Carter, Tammie Johnson and Mark Klaus officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Cemetery. Family members will be pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Carter, Athens; son, Danny Ray, Athens; brothers, Woodrow Haggenmaker, Athens, Douglas Haggenmaker, Decatur, Andrew Haggenmaker, Athens, Edward Haggenmaker, Madison, Arnold Lee Haggenmaker, Athens; sisters, Joyce Ray, Athens, Liddy Smith, Athens, Clara Ann Lynn, Madison, Catherine McDougle, Moulton, Reba Goff, Athens; grandchildren, Lori Usery, Christy Eaves, Cynthia Carter, Daniel Carter, Sarena Louvorn, all of Athens; nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Almer Haggenmaker and brothers, Carl Haggenmaker and William Haggenmaker.
