Mrs. Mattie Estelle Tucker, 88, of Athens, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at Limestone Health Facility.
Mrs. Tucker was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Limestone County. She was a member of the Church of Christ and she was a homemaker. There will be an 11 a.m. graveside service Wednesday at Lentzville Cemetery, with Barry Pugh, Jonathan Barksdale and Michael Heery officiating. No visitation is planned. Pallbearers will be Eric Tucker, Dustin Tucker, Andrew MacKenzie, Marc McCurry, Kent Schrimsher and Duane Adams.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Vickie) Tucker of Athens, Wayne Tucker of Athens and Dennis (Penny) Tucker of Athens; daughter-in-law, Daneese Tucker of Athens; brother, Bobby Adams of Athens; sister, Marie Showalter of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Leigh Pugh, Casie Barksdale, Kristin Heery, Shane Tucker, Kylie Hatmaker, Lindsay McCurry, Eric Tucker, Tori MacKenzie and Mallory Schrimsher; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy (Nobbin) Tucker; son, Charles Tucker; one brother; and nine sisters.
