mattOn the early morning of June 16, Matt suddenly left this world.
Matt was born March 3, 1981 in Beaufort, SC. He was the beloved son of Donald and Jean Dykstra.
Matt led a life full of fun and adventure; from travelling the world as a military child, to exploring his
surroundings. He was filled with a love of life that was expressed in his many adventures, photographs and creations. He held his family and friends close in his heart and was always there when you needed
him. His amazing capacity for compassion can be best expressed in the following:

“As I sit in Heaven
And watch you every day
I try to let you know the signs
I never went away
I hear you when you’re laughing
And I watch you when you sleep
I even place my arms around you
To calm you as you weep
I see you wish the days away
Begging to have me home
So I tried to send you signs
So you’ll know you’re not alone
Don’t feel guilty that you have
Life that was denied to me
Heaven is truly beautiful
Just you wait and see
So live your life, laugh again
Enjoy yourself, be free
Then I know with every breath you take
You’ll be taking one for me”-Unknown

Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Edith Dykstra.
Matt is survived by his parents Don and Jean, his brother David, his sister Heather, his sister-in-law Cheyenne, his nieces Ryli and Paityn, his grandparents Jack and Carol Mackee, aunts and uncles; Alan, Diane and Allen (Lisa, Nicole and Samantha), Jackie and John (Tiffany, Vicki, Travis and Shannon), Nancy and Nick (Tyler), Jenny (aka Nenny) and Doug (Kayla and Whitney) and many dear friends.

There are no words that could ever express how much you are missed. From the moment you came into our lives, to how early you were taken from us, you were always and will always be loved. You will live forever in our hearts and we will cherish our precious memories.
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be” (Love You Forever by Robert Munsch.
