Funeral service for Matthew Jeffrey Clemons, age 24, of Decatur, will be today, Dec. 22, 2017, 2 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with Reverend Aaron Coffey officiating. The family received friends at the church on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will receive friends today from noon to 1:45 p.m. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Clemons, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, in Decatur, was born Dec. 23, 1992, in Memphis, Tennessee to Jeffrey K. Clemons and Mary Ellen Farrell Clemons.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Anne Matthews Clemons, and one son, Asa Matthew Clemons, both of Decatur; parents, Jeff and Mary Ellen Clemons, of Memphis, Tennessee; Carol Anne’s parents, Tim and Cynde Matthews, of Decatur; one brother, Benjamin Clemons, of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters, Elizabeth Clemons and Rebecca Clemons, both of Memphis, Tennessee; grandparents, Richard and Helen Farrell, of Vineland, New Jersey; several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Benevolence Fund of Fairview Baptist Church.
