Matthew Clayton Syler, 42, of Huntsville AL, passed away on June 6, 2023, from a cardiac event. Matthew’s loss was completely unexpected, and his family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Matthew was born on January 27th, 1981, to Kerry and Marie (Lunn) Syler of Lynchburg, TN. His love for his family was evident to all who knew him well. In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived in death by his beloved wife, Britni, and their two beautiful children, Jacob (8) and Adalyn (3); siblings, Leanne (Dirk) of Lynchburg and Kurt (Megan) of Greensboro, NC; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Matthew graduated from Moore County High School in 1999, where he was passionate about Youth Ministry and football. He excelled at both, serving as an officer in Youth Group and at TAG Camp and was named a Mr. Football Finalist during his senior season. After graduating high school, Matthew moved to Huntsville, AL to obtain his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Alabama Huntsville. During his years at UAH, Matthew was a valued member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and was elected to the officer position of Marshal.

Beginning in college, Matthew embarked on a career in the flooring industry and made a significant impact on the industry throughout his remarkable career, He founded his own company, Syler Group, in 2017 and served as its CEO. He is also remembered as the founder of Bella Flooring Group and for his contributions while working at Beaulieu.

 

A man of deep faith, Matthew devoted himself to supporting mission work in Haiti. He will be remembered as a good man, a faithful husband, a dedicated father, servant to others, and a hard-working entrepreneur. The impact he made on countless lives will be cherished for years to come.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Mayfair Church of Christ, 1095 Carl T Jones Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35802. The funeral service will follow at the church, with a graveside service at 3:30 at Maple Hill Cemetery.
