David Scott Dishman, 60 years old, of Huntsville, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 12, 2023. Scott was born in Kokomo, Indiana on January 20, 1963.
In the late 60s, his family moved to Huntsville where he graduated from Grissom High School, class of ‘81. During those years, he was very active at Whitesburg Baptist Church, especially in youth group, and the Spireno Singers. He was beloved because of his personality and the care he always showed others – never meeting a stranger and keeping everyone laughing. Scott graduated from Auburn University. He served in student ministry at Thomasville Baptist Church, Thomasville, Alabama, Highlands Baptist Church, Huntsville, Alabama, as well as other churches.
While in Thomasville, he met Beverly Howington and they married on August 14, 1999. In 2001, they moved to Huntsville to work in the Hearing Instruments Science industry: National Hearing Centers, HearMax, and Costco Hearing Center.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; his mother, Dorothy “Dottie” Madison; his sisters, Pamela (Michael) O’Brien and Lauren (Jeremy) Britt; daughter, Marina Bartlett; and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his father, David Paul Dishman, and stepfather, Gerald O. Madison.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 16 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The service will be Saturday, June 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the student ministry at the church of your choice.
