Matt McCafferty, 28, of Rogersville, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a 2003 Lauderdale County High School graduate, a pipefitter, a member of Local No. 377 and a member of Center Star Church of Christ.
Visitation will be 5–8 p.m. Tuesday at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel, with Frank Foust and Bill Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Harvey, Taylor Eldridge, Corey Garrett, Willie Murphy, Shannon Howell, Jonathan Newton and honorary, Will Oglesby and Carson Parker.
Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Ruth McCafferty, James and Eunice Williams and aunt, Mary Jo Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Brooke Eldridge McCafferty; parents, Donnie and Brenda McCafferty; sisters, Donna Kay (Randy) Parker and Kathy; Oglesby; nieces, Katie and Kinley; nephews, Will and Carson; special uncle, Tommy McCafferty; aunt, Bonnie (Ricky) McCrary; father- and mother-in-law, Danny and Cyndy Eldridge; brother-in-law, Taylor Eldridge; and numerous cousins and friends.
