Matt Clayton, age 56, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Covenant Health LeConte in Sevierville, TN. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, and employed at Graphic Packaging. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, and watching UT Football. Most of all, Matt had a passion for taking great care of his yard.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gail Gray Clayton.
He is survived by his wife, Candice Rohling of Lawrenceburg, TN; five children, Damon Clayton (Anna), Gage Clayton, Kenzie Springer (Taylor), Haley Smith (Jakob), and Brad Staggs, all of Lawrenceburg, TN; his father, Donnie Clayton of Lawrenceburg, TN; one sister, Donna White (Steve) of Lawrenceburg, TN; five grandchildren, Vivion Owens, Ella Clayton, Sutton Clayton, Brooks Springer, and Teddy Clayton; and his beloved Belle.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 23, 2026, with Chad Moore and Jeff Overton officiating.
