Mary W. Newby, “Nanny”, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Huntsville, Alabama, on Friday, June 26, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on March 5, 1942, in Madison County, Mary devoted nearly 60 years to the pharmacy field. She loved her work deeply and took pride in caring for others, offering comfort, kindness, and steady support to countless people throughout her long career.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Newby; her parents, Oscar and Lorine Webster; and her sisters, Betty Miller and Robyn Webster.

She is survived by her daughter, Teressa McKinley (Neil); her grandchildren, Jennifer Bendall (Josh) and Dakota Morgan (James); and six great-grandchildren, Brianna Holcomb (Dalton), Braden Roberson, Nikolas Ormand, Tyler Ormand, Connor Morgan, and Caleb Morgan. She also leaves behind one great-great-grandchild, Cooper Holcomb. Mary is further survived by her brothers, Billy Webster (Tammy) and James D. Webster (Tula), and her sister, Katherine Brown. She had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Mary’s life was defined by dedication, compassion, and family. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the many lives she touched through her work and her gentle spirit.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the service immediately following in the chapel. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
