Mary Sue Breeden, 87, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025.
She was born on January 9, 1938, in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, to Martin Beasley and Clara Beasley.
She lived a life full of love and devotion to her family and faith. She taught kindergarten and preschool for 30 years, touching countless young lives with her warmth and dedication. Sue loved cooking for her family and friends, filling their hearts and homes with her delicious meals. She also insisted on cutting the grass herself, even with three healthy sons, showcasing her spirited independence. She was a long-time supporter and member of Westmeade Baptist Church and the Gideons International Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ray Breeden, Jr., her parents, Martin and Clara Beasley, and her brother, J.M. Beasley.
She is survived by her sons; George Ray Breeden, III, David Wayne Breeden, and Jeffrey Paul Breeden, along with their wives, Cindy Breeden, Martha Breeden, and Jetta Breeden; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and her sister, Aileen Lavender.
A Funeral service will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 12:00PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 11:00AM to 12:00PM at the Chapel prior to the service. Burial will follow at Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Michael Breeden, Ronnie Breeden, Chris Smith, Tyler Guice, Shane Youngblood, and Tim Young.
