Mary SiDonia Jones passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon with her family and friends beside her. Mrs. Jones was born on September 28, 1940, in Saint Louis, Missouri. She grew up in Crystal City, Missouri and Joliet, Illinois. She graduated from Joliet Township High School and attended William Jewel College. In 1959, she moved to Huntsville with her parents. She was employed at Redstone Arsenal where she met her husband, the late James Eckford Jones, Jr. They were married March 17, 1962, at First Methodist Church in Huntsville.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, square dancing, and growing flowers, especially roses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Lillian Peebles. Survivors include her son, James (Jay) Eckford Jones, III (Eve); daughter, Suzanne Wesley (Todd); grandchildren, Jodie Jones Wang (Sam), Justin Jones, Michael Wesley (Rachel), Kyle Wesley (Hope), and Lee Ann Wesley He (David); and great-grandchildren, Hans Wang, Margaret Wesley and James Wesley, who are twins.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with a memorial service immediately following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of North Alabama, 2905 West Corp. Blvd., Ste. 116, Huntsville, AL 35805, or to Trinity United Methodist Church, 607 Airport Road, Huntsville, Alabama, 35802.
