Mrs. Mary Ruth Hampton, age 85 of Centre, passed away Thursday, July 10th at her residences.
Funeral services will be 3:PM Saturday, July 12th at Centre First Baptist Church with Rev. Melvyn Salter and Rev. Mike Boatfield officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:PM Friday at Centre First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers include Tracy Bishop, Bill Barron, Gary Cox, Tony Wilkie, Jamie Jordan, and John Coggin.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Hampton (Ronnie) Bates of Centre; sister, Faye Boatfield of Centre; granddaughter, Meredith Bates Fernandez and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hampton was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Charlie Newton and Hazel Irene Johnson Kilgore, was a retired nurse and a member of Centre First Baptist Church.
