Mary Rebecca “Becky” Cody, 86, of Huntsville, died peacefully Sunday at her home. Becky was born in Birmingham, Alabama and spent her early years in Corinth, Mississippi. She graduated from High School in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended Memphis State University. Becky was one of two children born to the late Mary Rebecca Carlisle and Thomas Alvin Lusk. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Alvin Lusk.
Becky will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joseph Charles Cody; daughters, Vicky Jo Cody of Huntsville, Lynne Cody Cullison of Madison; and treasured grandchildren, Cody Joseph and Courtney Amanda Cullison.
Becky was an avid homemaker, gardener and volunteer. She devoted time to Federated Garden Clubs of Madison County, The Huntsville-Madison County Botanical Gardens and Trinity United Methodist Church. .
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Rick Owen officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Alabama Hospice or Trinity United Methodist.
